Want to talk about maps as search interface for library collections?
How are items geo-coded? What software can be used?
I have some projects underway that I can share, but also want to hear from others.
We should have a session on the tools participants find useful in supporting their collaborative teams, especially those that cross disciplinary boundaries. The session could explore how to hack a collaborative team site by loosely coupling existing tools.
THATCamp DH Collaborate is happening because of our sponsors, including: Texas A&M University Libraries, the IDHMC (Initiative for Digital Humanities, Media and Culture) at Texas A&M, the Digital Humanities Working Group at Texas A&M, and The Marvin D. and June Samuel Brailsford College of Arts and Sciences and the Office of Recruitment & Marketing at Prairie View A&M University. We are grateful for this generous support!

Our THATCamp is taking place on May 16-17, 2014. We plan to have a half-day boot camp on Friday, with the usual THATCamp sessions on Saturday. Possible topics for boot camp thus far includes TEI and/or XSLT training, GIS, digital project management, digital project startup, and Neatline. Do you have ideas for boot camp classes? Let us know!

. . . because February 21-22, 2014 May 16-17 are the dates for THATCamp DHCollaborate! Our camp will take place on the Texas A&M University campus, with most activities held in Evans Library and in the Liberal Arts and Humanities Building.
While we are working out further details, please help us to get the word out to librarians, faculty, technologists, and other DH practitioners.
The ringleaders of this effort are Maura Ives (Department of English, Texas A&M) and Kathy Weimer (Map & GIS Library, Texas A&M), and we welcome feedback and ideas as we continue to plan.
There’s a new THATCamp being planned! THATCamp DHCollaborate will bring together DH practitioners from libraries and educational institutions in Texas (and beyond) for the purpose of sharing knowledge and building new collaborative DH initiatives. We will be setting up at Texas A&M University in College Station, and we are looking at dates in Spring 2014: more as soon as we know it!
Meanwhile, read more about the THATCamp movement and browse other THATCamps at thatcamp.org.
